Welcome to New Zealand! Each year, more than 5,000 international students from over 100 countries find a warm welcome at Massey University.

Hello and welcome to Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa Massey University’s International Orientation. We hope you had safe travels and are ready to start your studies with us.

Whether you are an undergraduate or a postgraduate student, Orientation is vital to starting your journey at Massey University.

We strongly encourage all new international students to arrive in New Zealand in time to attend International Orientation and on-campus Orientation. You will learn important things about studying at Massey University, living in and enjoying your time in New Zealand and meeting other students.

Explore the campus, find out about food and transport options, key places on campus, the services available and where to find them.
2.00pm to 2.30pm - Your community

In person

Find out about your local community. We’ll cover things like places to shop, transport and helpful tips for living and renting in New Zealand.
2.30pm to 2.40pm - Break for kai (food)

In person

Learn about New Zealand culture, tips on being away from home and living safely and how we can help you thrive during your time at Massey and in New Zealand.
3.20pm to 4.00pm - Connection!

In person

Connect with other international students in this final session! You’ll also learn about the many ways to connect with others in your classes, clubs, societies and activities.
