



Promoting Asian Psychologies in Aotearoa New Zealand -
We are pleased to announce a 3 day international seminar promoting the inclusion of Asian Psychologies in Aotearoa New Zealand. Hosted in Auckland from 17 to 19 November.
Join us for a 3 day event hosted by Massey University, the University of Auckland and the Asian Association of Social Psychology (AASP).
About the seminar
The seminar provides a unique space to share cultural knowledge between scholars across Asia and Aotearoa.
Share theory, research and practice experiences in working with Asian communities.
Attendees will refine their skills in engaging effectively with Asian communities and publishing that research. You will also be able to brainstorm ideas with others on how to promote Asian psychologies.
Keynote addresses will be made by academics from Aotearoa New Zealand, the Philippines, Indonesia, China and Australia.
Presenting at the seminar
The Organising Committee warmly welcomes scholars from the Asia Pacific region to present related work at the seminar.
We encourage you to apply if you are:
- an early and mid-career scholar
- a PhD candidate
- a graduate student.
You need to show how your research expertise and interest is relevant to the seminar.
No registration fee will be charged for this meeting. Lunches and dinners are provided.
Submit your statement of interest by 29 September.
Financial support
There is a small domestic travel fund to support scholars in need who want to attend the seminar but would otherwise be unable to due to costs.
To be eligible for this financial support, prospective participants are required to submit:
- a 3 page CV
- a letter of recommendation from an AASP member
- a statement outlining why they need financial support.
